I am not asking in order to be able to hack into the government or create huge viruses to bring down corporate businesses. I am just interested in the topic and would like to learn more about it. I am somewhat knowledgeable about computers.Thanks.
If you want to learn about computer security then crack open the books for security certifications and start reading. To learn how to bypass security measures you have to first learn what they are and how they work. A Network + book should be the first thing you study as you’ll need a thorough knowledge of networking particularly TCP/IP and routing methodology. Study how packets are put together and HEX conversions to get source and destination IP addresses and MAC addresses from the headers. This will give you a base to build off of and once you know networking and security measures you’ll know where you want to look next.
My son is autistic and a computer genius. How and where can I get him some training.
You can use Google.com to find many free information and resources
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=autistic+++%22computer+training%22&btnG=Search&aq=f&aql=&aqi=&oq=
You can also contact your local, state or federal government agencies to see if they have any resources, information and etc. for computer training, educational programs and etc.
Good luck and I hope everything will work out for the best for your son!
whats the difference between computer science and computer engineering? Im planning of transferring to this one university (cal poly)… computer engineering requires me to take General Chemistry while computer science requires me to take elements of biology.. i want to apply for an undergraduate course so that i can go into software development later… or should i say i want to be a software engineer.. which course should i opt for? which of those 2 is software engineer?
My school offers computer science, computer engineering, AND software engineering.
I’m not an expert on the differences between comp. sci. and software. eng., however I know that computer engineering focuses more on the hardware side.
However, my school also offers a dual degree program in computer engineering and computer science. Something like that is definitely worth looking into. Otherwise if you just want to develop software (and there is no software engineering option) then computer science is your best bet.
I just installed a new itunes on a different computer, and I want to manually sync some videos to my ipod. What I need to know if if I plug my ipod into the computer(which is FILLED with my music) will it start to synchronize right away to the empty itunes list? I don’t want to loose my music on there! How do I make sure that doesn’t happen?
The SAME thing happened to me, and I did some searching and found that by pressing control and shift right after you plug it in hold it down until the ipod is recognized and VOILAA. It doesn’t sync :]
And wat do u think about a career in Computer hardware engineering guys? Do u hve to keep learning abt new hardwares as they get invented??
From what i have study, the minimum education to be consider a computer hardware engineer is a bachelors. And that takes 4 years.
So think about it, your out of high school
and that totals up to 12 years.
Plus 4-5 more years in College.
So you do the math.
